NI (National Instruments, National Instruments, Inc.) as a commitment to engineers and scientists to provide solutions to meet the world's most serious engineering challenges of the supplier, today announced the launch of a series of PCI Express Gen 3 connected high-performance PXI Remote control and bus expansion module. PCI Express Gen 3 technology provides higher bandwidth, which brings the gospel to applications such as 5G mobile research, RF recording and playback, and high-channel data acquisition, which require significant amounts of data.
"As new technologies continue to integrate into smart devices, engineers urgently need to develop smarter test and measurement systems to take advantage of the latest data processing and transmission technologies to reduce test costs or increase coverage." Luke Schreier, director of automated test marketing, "This new range of remote control modules expands NI's existing PCI Express Gen 3 chassis and embedded controller products, delivering more than twice the throughput for multi-chassis systems."
The PCIe-8398 host interface card communicates with a single-port PXIe-8398 or dual-port PXIe-8399 remote control module via a fully transparent PCI Express Gen 3 x16 link to provide up to 13.7 GB / s of continuous data throughput. Engineers can use the second port on the PXIe-8399 to connect more chassis, allowing multiple PXI Express chassis to connect directly to a single host, including desktops and rackmount PCs.
The PXIe-8394 bus expansion module is based on the PCI Express Gen 3 connection technology, enabling up to 6.8 GB / s point-to-point data streaming between instruments isolated from the chassis, such as the second generation vector signal transceiver. In addition to multi-chassis systems, the PXIe-8394 also allows high-throughput communications with external devices such as RAID data storage arrays or ATCA-3671 FPGA modules. These peripherals typically require a lot of data, which can benefit from the latest PCI Express interface.
The new PXI Remote Control and Bus Expansion Module family is designed to complement the published PXIe-8880 embedded controller and the PXIe-1085 24 GB / s chassis, both using PCI Express Gen 3 connectivity. This high-bandwidth chassis and controller product family is a very important part of the NI ecosystem to help engineers build smarter test systems. These test systems will benefit from more than 600 PXI products ranging from DC to millimeter waves in different operating frequency ranges. They use PCI Express third-generation bus interface, with high-throughput data movement, with sub-nanosecond synchronization and integration timing and triggering. The NI platform is supported by an active ecosystem of partners, IP and application engineers to help engineers significantly reduce test costs, reduce time-to-market, and ensure that test equipment can meet future needs and address future challenges.
